Canadian Advantage: Product quality and reliability

Barley growers and maltsters have at their disposal a wide variety of research agencies, provincial and federal agriculture and health departments and university research facilities – all with aim of ensuring the quality and reliability of their products. Like industries around the world, MIAC members choose to conform to International Standards Organization (ISO) 9000 – a group of standards related to quality management systems that is designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders.  Similarly, MIAC members use Hazardous analysis and critical control points (HACCP)a voluntary, systemic preventive approach to food safety that is safer and more reliable than finished product testing.
