Prairie Grain Development Committee (PGDC)

The Prairie Grain Development Committee (PGDC) makes recommendations for commercial registration of Canadian malting barley. It acts as an information exchange regarding improved cultivars of grain crops for the western Prairies.  It also provides a forum for discussion of scientific research priorities for the improvement of the prairie grain sector.

The Prairie Recommending Committee for Oat and Barley is one of four independent committees responsible for the testing, evaluation, and recommending of grain crop candidate cultivars for registration in the Canadian Wheat Board area of Western Canada.
